Starn Brothers’ Snow Crystals

I discovered these gorgeous snowflake images while doing some last minute christmas shopping at 20 x 200. If you aren’t familiar with this site, it’s a great place to find affordable art, framed or unframed.

This series that caught my eye is by identical twin brothers,┬áMike and Doug Starn. They are most interested in capturing a snowflake’s transformation, the “process of alteration from solid to liquid, from organized form in space to aqueous blob on a surface.”

I think they’re pretty amazing in all their imperfection, and just about the perfect imagery to end this pre-holiday week. Have a lovely weekend!
