These Are A Few of My Favorite Things

office inspiration and tour from cleanlinestudio.com

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens…Is that song stuck in your head now too? Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself. Eva likes that song so it’s perpetually rolling around in mine. By now you’ve seen a glimpse at my studio, but today I wanted to share a few more images of my desk setup, and my favorite things to have about while I’m working.

The main reason that I chose to move my business from my home office to a studio outside of the home was my NEED for natural light. Now that I’m here, I’m pretty delighted, and so are my plants! I love to surround myself with greenery, photos of my loved ones, and an arsenal of design books.

Most days, the light in the studio is ample, but it’s pretty important that ‘m always able to see what I’m doing. My minimal, white desk lamp from lamps.com really comes in handy on those rainy days (they’re also available in a beautiful range of colors). It even has a usb port, which I’ve used many times to charge my phone. My large pink “yes ma’am” poster is from baba souk. I actually gasped when I unrolled this beauty from it’s tube. She is so so beautiful in person. The paper is super heavy and the depth and saturation of the screen printed colors are just plain gorgeous. It instantly brightened up the space when I hung her up. The other print and the lunchbox (visible in the first image) are both by Michelle Armas. My tissue box holder and the polaroid-style picture frames  both come from umbra, a quirky and relatively inexpensive line I tend to favor for home goods. I hope you’ve enjoyed this peek into my world. It’s a space I feel very grateful to call my own!

I also NEED natural light! You should try living in Denver, where it's sunny over 300 days a year. ;]

Oh man, If only, Traci! My family's all in the Philadelphia area, so we'll be sticking around here, at least for now!

Beautiful workspace! I'm a sucker for natural light too. Which is why, when possible, I leave overhead lights off and let the sun shine its happy way in through the blinds. :)

Oh I totally understand that, Kelly! The overhead lights in my studio are some unpleasant fluorescents that I never use.

Oh damn. That is a nice workspace. I went the all-white route and now I find myself yearning for prints and fun cork boards. And yes, natural light is a must-have. Where did you get your Bertoya (or Bertoya-esque) chair? So luxurious!

amazon! If you search under "new studio" theres an inspiration board from when I was first moving in to the studio,. and a link there. There's an IKEA sheep skin strewn across the seat instead of the black thing that comes with the chair...

What a gorgeous space, Sarah. I absolutely love workspaces! Natural light is so important. I used to work in an office where there was no windows in the building - none. And now I'm just so thankful that I get to work in my studio which gets filled with sunlight every day :)

I love your setup! I am all about natural light too. My office is at my house but I made sure to pick the sunniest room :)
